Enjoy the 100th Day of school with these fun activities that are educational too.
In my 1-3rd grade multiage classroom I celebrate 100 day each year. I highlight the day with a read-in where we try to read for 100 minutes on that day.
The students are allowed to bring in sleeping bags, blankets, stuffed animals or a small pillow. The students spread out in the classroom.
I count reading to self, together, reading to students, a book on tape or on the smartboard etc… Included in this packet is a log where students can record the books that they read.
Included are writing prompts that deal with the number 100. This packet has five different 100 day writing prompts for you to choose from or have your students pick which one they will write on.
There are five different math activities, including games that the students can work on during math time. The math games are educational and a fun alternative for your students to do on this 100 day.
I have whole packet put together for the students and we try to accomplish as much of it as we can. Covers for the pack are included.
Also included is a fun sorting money game where your students count the coins and sort under greater than, less than, or = .
Also included are awards in black and white and in color that you can give to your students. One says, “I gave 100% today.” The other says, “__________read for 100 minutes today.”
A letter to parents telling them about the 100 minute read in and that their child can bring in a sleeping bag, blanket etc…for the big day.
100 day songs to sing together.
I turn 100 on….. An art activity for students to draw a picture of themselves when they turn 100.
A banner that reads “We Did It-100 days”
Ties that your students can wear that say “Celebrating 100 days of school.” Just print on card stock, poke holes on the ends and put a ribbon through the holes.
Please check out preview for a good look at what is included.
Happy teaching and happy 100 day! Jane
