This is a unit of activities leading up to Pi Day, March 14th at 1:59 p.m. (3.14159). It is intended to provide 2-3 weeks of exploration of the mathematics of circles, with emphasis on application of the concept of pi. Some of these activities are hands on opportunities for students to physically experience the value of pi. The unit culminates with a celebration of the date, March 14th, with a whimsical approach to pi/pie!
