This game asks students questions about a specific holiday that has personal meaning.
“Celebration SCOOT” provides a fun and motivating way for your students to reflect on a holiday celebration that each of them observes. It’s a great activity as we enter the winter holiday season, sharing the unique ways we celebrate with our families. It’s a celebration of the diversity within your learning community. The questions on these cards are also perfect to use as writing prompts or prompts for a celebration journal.
The rules are just like your usual Scoot games, and there are 28 question cards in all. Break cards are also provided, giving you a way to adjust the number of cards used for fewer or more students. There are blank cards provided as well for you to add some questions unique to your plan for your students.
The responses can be used later as students discuss and write about their holiday celebrations. The responses to these questions will also give you another way to get to know your students. I’ve included optional pages to use for making a celebration journal. Just print front to back with blank four card pages and then cut apart. Attach with a staple, ribbon, or plastic ring.
I hope you will enjoy using this version of SCOOT to focus on diversity in your learning community this year!
