This project is done in French, but you can easily make it Spanish!! This project is broken down into chunks for easy planning and it is great for those students who need extra help with the outline process. There is the project outline on paper that you can hand out, or I've also attached a GOOGLE SLIDES link so you can show them on a projector, a real student sample from my class, a rubric for easy grading, and a student outline for them to fill in that makes it easy to follow.
You can show them my student sample so you can see what the final product looks like. If you don't want them to make it a slideshow, you can use my GOOGLE DOC LINK to make a copy, and save it to your drive. This way you will be able to edit it and make it what you want!
Here is how I broke it down:
Day 1 - Find the 10-12 members of your family tree, add them to the slides. Start outline if finished early
Day 2 - Finish 2-3 descriptions of people.
Day 3 - Finish the remaining descriptions of people and have 2 peer editors sign off on their work.
Day 4 - For each of the 5 people described, create a slide with their picture, intro, and paragraph. Whatever was not finished they had two nights at home to finish and then turn in their Google Slides to my google classroom.
Again, feel free to modify and make it a poster! I used this as a writing grade for the end of the unit. Always feel free to send me a message with any questions!!
