PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

You know celery absorbs water stained with food coloring, but does adding salt to the water have any effect on the outcome? Students explore this question with this simple experiment that focuses on experimental design and quantitative and qualitative observation. Included is a two-page lab sheet with a page of celery facts for the students to use as “research”. You will find that salt stops water from entering the celery stalk and may even draw liquid out of the stalk leaving it wilted and rubbery.
