This .zip file contains materials for a project asking students to compare cell organelle functions with a human/societal entity, as part of a unit on living things. The unit was designed for 6th graders in NYC.
This is one of my personal favorite projects, as students get to show off their creativity and artistic talents, as well as work with subjects that interest them. I cover this project after reviewing analogies of a cell to a factory, and a classroom, during class lessons (see my other files for this material).
1 project description
1 parent informative letter
1 project proposal worksheet
1 SMARTboard .notebook file with previous students' example projects and practice walkthrough of the written portion of the project
1 rubric/grading sheet
'Ask a question' if you need a PowerPoint file instead and I can probably re-upload everything with an adjusted file.
