Chromosome numbers in mitosis and meiosis: Calculating 2n and n is easy. But sometimes to truly understand diploid vs. haploid cells is not. If your students are struggling to understand homologous chromosome pairs or just need some practice to make sure they do- this is a versatile and valuable activity to help your class comprehend chromosome numbers.
This is a 2 page assignment that can serve as both classwork or home work. One of the biggest struggles for my students was that they could not understand why cells become haploid during telophase I. This practice prepares them for that concept and helps them comprehend those pesky chromosomes.
Answer key is included.
