Mystify students with the complexity of their own cheek cells during this inquiry-based microscope lab. Students will also look at plant cells as well as microorganisms from pond or river water.
Your purchase includes a 15 slide PowerPoint with lab instructions and 2 page student handout. Students are prompted to sketch what they see. This is a nice introductory lab for students who are new to using microscopes.
The best part for me during this lab is seeing students take pictures of what they see in the microscope with their phone to share. I teach by a river and students are pretty baffled at what we see in its water. It might also be interesting for students to bring water from a pond or creek near their home or even their dog's water bowl!
