This activity was created as a way for students to review the organelles in both the plant and animal cell and be able to identify its function.
Students will have card that have the names of the different cell organelles and their functions. The cards will be sorted and then used to create a shuttter fold book. On the outside are the names of the organelles and their function will be put on the inside flap. In the middle of the fold book are clip art pictures of a plant cell and animal cell that the students should label with the names of the organelles.
This activity can be modified to meet the needs of your students. Some ideas for modifications would be:
- reduce the size of the sort cards and have students glue the cards to the inside of the foldable.
- make another foldable that takes out some of the organelles that are not needed.
This is a great review for a test and an information addition to a student's interactive science notebook.
