Learn your cellular biology/cell organelles vocabulary in a fun and exciting way! If you don't own the Hedbanz game (because you'll need the head bands), you can make your own makeshift headbands with Dollar Store stretchy 2" wide head bands (in the hair accessory aisle). Print the 20 game cards from the file onto heavy duty paper and laminate them for protection. Shuffle and play. Students must define each word using their biology textbook or dictionary before playing. Students may refer to their vocabulary lists for help as needed until they have memorized the terms.
Here's how you play: Hedbanz is a fairly simple concept, but a great idea. Each player places one of these picture cards on their headband. The player cannot see what is on their card but everyone else can.
When it is your turn you need to ask the other players questions to try and determine what object is on your card. "Am I found in a eukaryotic cell" or "Am I in a plant cell" are probably good places to start. As you receive answers to your questions you must continue to ask more questions to try and figure out what your card actually is.
