Description

Answer key to free student worksheet located at: https://www.biologycorner.com/worksheets/glucose-cell-signal.html

Students view a graphic that shows how insulin interacts with a receptor on the cell membrane which initiates a signal cascade. The glut-4 protein is delivered to the membrane where it functions to bring glucose into the cell. Students must answer questions about how changes in the signal pathway can affect the uptake of glucose by cells. Students then compare Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes and how the signaling pathway is broken in people with diabetes.
