This two day lesson introduces and distinguishes between the major cell types and cellular organelles and structures. Day one begins by accessing prior knowledge & using text resources to distinguish between prokaryotic/eukaryotic and animal/plant cells. Students are then challenged to create an advertisement highlighting the features of an assigned organelle or structure. Students may work individually or in pairs, and advertisements may be posters or created electronically. An electronic example is included. Students will present their work, while the class takes Cornell notes on each structure and its function.
