In this fully editable, competitive activity, students work in teams to label illustrations, match terms and definitions, answer multiple choice questions, and craft responses to short answer questions relating to cells and biological levels of organization. As they move through the six-part challenge, students deliver their answers to the teacher for scoring. An Excel sheet is provided to act as a live scoreboard.
The subjects covered in this activity include:
❶ Eukaryotic vs. Prokaryotic Cells
❷ Prokaryotic Cell Organelles
❸ Biological Levels of Organization
This team competition encourages engagement with the subject matter, as well as cooperation, collaboration, and discussion. Between debating the correct answers with their teammates and responding to the results on the live scoreboard, my students always have a lot of fun with this activity!
