“Cells” is a great way to introduce your students to the many parts of a cell.
The student worksheets introduce students to the following cell vocabulary:
A one page test is included with a matching section, short answer (2 - 3 sentences) section, and a third section that list cell parts and asks students to identify parts that are found in both plant and animal cells.
I used this type of activity to build background knowledge and to introduce vocabulary.
A separate power point presentation is also available in my store. The power point matches the worksheets and is presented in a fill in the blank format. Used as a whole class activity it is a great activity to provide vocabulary knowledge in a highly engaging activity.
The cell worksheets are sized to fit into composition books. They can be used as an interactive notebook. Students can cut and paste or tape the pages into their book, and fill in the blanks. Students could research the answers needed on the worksheets, or if the power point is also used they can fill in the blanks as they review.
The use of the power point and worksheets was very engaging for my students.
