This is a Word document that allows students to cut out and glue stick (kinesthetic!) definitions of vocabulary words relating to cells onto a blank BINGO card. I like to have them work in groups of 3-4 and challenge them to come up with the most efficient way of populating their BINGO cards. As the teacher, you'll cut out the vocabulary words, fold them in half, and place in a hat for students to pick randomly as you circulate the classroom. Give them 30-60 seconds (depends on grade level / readiness) between words and be sure to double check the winning team's answers by having them read the definitions to the class. This keeps everyone engaged even if their board didn't get 5 in a row.
Alternatively, you can write the vocabulary words on ping pong balls and place in a empty, clear plastic pretzel container. This adds an auditory hook element to the activity.
This is a fun game that doubles as a formative assessment!
Hope you find it helpful! ENJOY!!
