Your students will love learning about cells and their organelles with this engaging, no prep reading activity! This is perfect for adding literacy to your science curriculum because it’s academically-aligned for ELA and for science. Plus, it’s so easy to use that you can even leave it for sub plans!

This resource includes four activity pages and their answer keys. The passage is written at a 7th grade reading level and is accompanied with a matching activity (8 prompts), constructed response prompts based on a diagram (5 prompts), and a cut-and-sort activity. All answer keys are included.

The objective of this activity is for students to be able to identify the function of the following organelles as it relates to carrying out the cell processes: nucleus, lysosome, cell wall, cell membrane, mitochondria, chloroplasts, cytoplasm, and vacuole.
