What educators are saying

There are many activities for students to complete. My students especially enjoyed the Bozeman fill-in. I like them too because it created accountability when watching the videos.

    Description

Coming upon a unit on cellular energetics? Here are some of my favorite items for tackling this tough topic. Most of these activities are targeted towards the general biology level, but can also be used at the AP level.

*Bozeman Photosynthesis & Cell Respiration WALs: these videos go into detail about the processes of PS & CR. If teaching a general bio class, this might be a bit over the heads of some students, but great for those at an accelerated or AP level.

*Photosynthesis & Cell Respiration Table Posters: get your kids critically thinking about what the photosynthesis & cellular respiration equations mean, inputs, outputs, and which organisms do these processes.

*Virtual Photosynthesis Lab- Students play with variables and see the impacts on plant photosynthesis rate.

*PS & CR Comparison Table- use this as a tool to help students visually compare and contrast the two processes.

*Photosynthesis, Respiration, & Carbon Cycle Modeling- my most favorite activity of all- really challenge your students into thinking deeply about carbon movement through all these processes. I have used this activity with my general bio classes (which have mixed levels of students), and while many struggle at first, they come up with amazing things and most come out with a deeper understanding of the topics than you would ever expect.
