Product Description
This is a final project assignment for a unit on censorship. It fits well with a unit having to do with free speech and book banning; I used it in a literature unit that included Fahrenheit 451 as the primary text. I believe it could also fit into a class in the Social Sciences or History.

Included: 18 broad topic areas + more specific prompts for students to start their research, a page of student instructions, and a detailed rubric.

Sample topic areas:
2. Voluntary censorship in the news media: What should be censored and why?
11. Civil liberties: What are they, and are they eroding?
16. Big Brother: not the government, but privately owned companies?

As it is set up, the project asks for students to work in groups of up to three people to create a presentation with an A/V component and a handout in order to teach their peers about their topic. (This is a MS Word document, so you can edit anything that doesn't suit.)
