This is a fun Chinese New Year activity that you can add to a learning center, teach as an art lesson, or give as an early finisher activity. Two slides give explanations of what the Year of the Dog means along with several Chinese inspired art works related to that. There is a worksheet with a lightly drawn in dog inside a circle that you would copy and provide to each student. There are also many examples to inspire the students to draw their own Year of the Dog symbol. The supplies needed to create this art work are simple: pencil, crayons or markers, and a worksheet for each student.
A script and directions accompany this PowerPoint, so anyone is able to lead students through this.
