My partner teacher and I use these pictures to indicate the centers that children should go to for the day. We put the groups at the top, and the three centers students will go to that day in the column underneath. For daily changes, we just rotate the groups to the right and the pictures of centers stay where they are. We made multiple copies of each one to place on our centers poster. We mix up two classrooms so our chart is 12 groups wide.
We just pull kids that we need in our flexible groupings from the centers they are at. As you can see, they are assigned to the same center three days in a row, but at different time slots so they will go to each center two of the three days.
For one classroom, it would be half as wide as the one in my photo. Looking for any that aren't in the file? Leave a comment and I'll add it before you purchase, or go ahead and download and the site will let you know when it is updated with your ideas.
