I created a 5 day rotation of centers I felt were meaningful, important and structured. These centers go hand and hand with Reading Street 2013 edition. The five centers include: Vocabulary, Fluency, Skill/Strategy/Game, Story, and Journal/Independent Reading.
The centers have directions for each day. The students rotate to each center everyday for 10-12 minutes, depending on schedule. The centers can be edited in a Word Document, and allow for flexibility in activities. I laminate each sheet twice for durability and write extra directions on the sheet with dry-erase markers.
I also attach activities in the bins that the groups use as they go through. I assign a group leader in charge of collecting all materials and reading day directions to the group.
