In this quick lab activity students will analyze the concept of centripetal force. This lab is very visually and physically engaging for students as the penny spins around the inside of a balloon. This is a great way to engage visual, tactile, and kinesthetic learners.
Required Materials: A balloon and a penny for each student.
This lab is a fun lab for students and is very low cost. It would roughly cost $7 per 100 students. ($1 in pennies and $6 for 100 balloons)
The lab activity is a great follow up to forces, specifically a centripetal force presentation or lesson. Have fun with it, my students sure did!
