In all of my years teaching art, this ceramics sculpture lesson is my #1 FAVORITE project!!
Guide students through the building of individual abstract sculptures using ceramic handbuilding techniques. Each sculpture will be totally unique.
This lesson includes day-by-day teacher instructions with student evaluation criteria noted. It also contains a distribution-ready self-assessment for student self-reflection and instructor evaluation/grading at the conclusion of the project.
This lesson is my only project that does not use a student rubric at the introduction, because there is a fun twist in the building process! The students can't know the entire process in advance, otherwise it would ruin the fun of the project!
The "reveal the twist" day is always my favorite day of the school year!! I hope you have fun sharing this project with your students!
