Product Description
This project was a hit with my 7th and 8th graders! I came up with an easy method to create a Ceramic Garden Gnome Sculpture that resulted in very successful results for all of my students, regardless of prior experience!

This product includes:
-an 8 page illustrated handout that outlines the method I used to help students create these whimsical sculptures.
-A detailed lesson plan with CORE standards.
-Printable clay chart to assist students when selecting the right amount of clay to keep all sculptures the desired size.
-20 color gnome sculpture photo examples made by 7th and 8th grade students
-Helpful tips to repair gnomes that might break or need parts replaced after firing.
-Painting tips to achieve successful paint application to enhance the fired gnome sculptures.
-A PowerPoint to introduce the lesson with the history of gnomes, gnome legend and folklore and German Gnome Sculptures. Also the world's most valuable Gnome "Lampy"!
- Humorous game called "Name your Gnome" using your initial and birth month to help students choose a funny name for their gnome
( PowerPoint slide and also as a Printable handout.)

A great low-fire, earthenware ceramics lesson, all ready to go, with everything you need to make it super easy and fun for you and your students!

I'd love it to see your results! Post them on my SparkleGal Art Magic Facebook page!
