A simple, yet effective worksheet for students to organize their thoughts on assigned ceramics projects. In this space, they can write notes and sketches of what their final product will look like, list tools they may need to use to achieve their outcome, and create an order of operations. I have used this with small groups of students, working through thoughts on how to hand build the assignment. This promotes the use of vocabulary pertaining to the projects, processing the various techniques they could use to create their work, and offers a space to get their starting and finishing points set. This worksheet has been a fantastic tool for the teacher as well because it allows us see what's going on in their head, opens up possibilities for helping them improve upon their design, and helps to keep them accountable. When they have a worksheet to reference with while working on their project, it keeps them focused and less likely to be distracted.
