Have you ever wanted a creative way to get your students excited about reading and doing a book report? My kiddos loved doing this last year so I had to share!
I do a book report at least once a 9 weeks and give my students a month to complete the report. My students had so much fun completing their book report out of a cereal box. It is detailed, but so much fun! I hope your students enjoy this as much as mine did.
This file includes:
Examples of Book Report
Letter for turning in Book Title
Letter explaining the Book Report
Cereal Box Layout Checklist
Story Map Graphic Organizer
Sloppy Copy Notes
Final Copy Templates for Cereal Box
Front of the Box:
Students will create a picture and name their cereal to match their book. They will also come up with a slogan for their cereal!
Back of the box:
Summary of the book and a book review/rating
On the right side of the box:
Students write about the "Ingredients" that make up their book. Otherwise known as the story elements!
On the left side of the box:
Students write about the "Nutritional Information" or the three main characters!
One last fun element of the book report...
Students come up with a prize for their cereal!
