This "C'est Moi!/C'est ____" introductions activity pack is meant to help your students learn and practice personally-meaningful vocabulary and structures. It includes two sheets: a "C'est Moi!" sheet that students can use to share information about themselves, and a "C'est _____" sheet that students can use to share information about classmates, family members, friends, celebrities, etc. The second activity can be done in pairs with students interviewing one another. Alternatively, students could write about a family member or friend. They could also play a game of "guess who" by drawing a classmate's name and writing about them but leaving the name space blank! Comment with any other ideas you come up with; I'd love to hear them!
The first activity aligns beautifully with one of BC's Core French Big Ideas for grade five - "with basic French, we can describe ourselves and our interests" (British Columbia's Ministry of Education, 2016). It also aligns with the grade seven Core French Big Idea - "with simple French we can discuss our interests" (British Columbia's Ministry of Education, 2016).
The second activity aligns perfectly with a Big Idea for grade six, Core French - "with basic French, we can describe important people in our lives" (British Columbia's Ministry of Education, 2016).
Both activities could be used to help students realize the grade nine Core French Big Idea - "we can have meaningful conversations about things that are important to us in French" (British Columbia's Ministry of Education, 2016).
