This is a CH phonics activity. I used it in kindergarten and 1st grade. I had students cut, paste, color, and practice the words in this activity. While students were busy doing that, I walked around and had students read the words to me. Students practice reading the words and then place them in the nest. Work is differentiated, so students who had trouble reading, would look at the picture eggs and determine if they made the ch sound or not. Ch sounds went in the nest.
This file includes:
-A full page chicken drawing and a nest. Students glue an envelope on the bottom of the chicken page, they cut out the nest, and glue the nest to the envelope. This creates a pocket for the eggs.
-There are eggs with pictures for students who are working on distinguishing ch sounds form other sounds. They say each word and determine if the sound makes a ch or not.
-There are eggs with ch words.
-There are blank eggs for you to write your own words or create your own drawings.
All work is original art created by me.
