Students practice phonics skills while playing Memory (Matching) Game.
*Discussion of the /ch/ digraph and how "tch" makes the /ch/ sound at the end of a word should be held prior to playing this game.
Includes 24 cards; 12 with words, 12 with pictures.
Directions: Print the document with colored ink. Glue on card stock. Cut pieces out. Place all cards face down in front of you. Player 1 flips over 2 cards. If the word matches the picture, they keep the match. If not, the cards get flipped face down again and it is Player 2's turn. The player with the most matches at the end of the game wins!
This game can be played during literacy centers or as a whole class on a pocket chart!
I used this to review these phonics concepts with the whole group using a pocket chart. We played boys vs. girls. They absolutely loved it and wanted to play it again and again!
