Included in this HyperDoc are questions and activities designed to aid and deepen comprehension and spark critical thinking—all in line with Common Core—while reading the novel Chains. This PDF perfect for iPads or Chromebooks as more than 50 hyperlinks are included, so your students are just click away from activities, additional research, videos, and more. I tried to balance video, audio, and reading both to keep student interest and to provide students the opportunity to learn from varied media.

It can be used individually or as a class. This resource is great for distance learning. You can use all or part of it and it is ideal for early finishers as there are many links included for enrichment and exploration. Busy teachers and homeschoolers love my products because I try to incorporate as many subjects as possible. This provides the perfect platform for doing an in-depth, cross-curricular novel study combining language arts with social studies and even a little math and science (history of New York, Colonial America, Revolutionary War, figurative language, slavery, American independence, American history).

Please note: This is an updated version (04/19/20) with questions spread over more pages and images added as I found students were getting overwhelmed by the amount of text on each page. It is purely an optical change, but I'm hoping it will help.
