Isabel fell when the boat rocked, hit her head and can't remember anything. Can your students help Curzon remind her of the events that led them to the boat and why they are headed to rescue Ruth?
To help Curzon, they will demonstrate their knowledge by completing these fun, activities that covers the scope of the novel. This activity runs through Google Apps. Students can work independently or collaboratively to solve 8 locks by clicking on each card and completing the task. They can enter the lock combination for each card on the embedded Google form.
Throughout the activity they will review:
This activity will work best as a review after they have read the novel. Most students will be able to complete the tasks in about 45 minutes and the activities are designed with varying levels of ability in mind. Please see the preview of activities. I have included a printable answer sheet. This is optional, but included if you would like to have something tangible to grade.
Your students will need access to Google and a Google account, but they DO NOT need to request access to any documents. For activities requiring Google forms/slides, they will be asked to make a copy. This is a digital, interactive activity. You do not need physical locks. It will work best with laptops or desktops. It will also work on tablets and Chromebooks, however, the words may be a little harder to read on a smaller device. I have included directions on how to zoom the slides to make them larger.
Please view the preview video for a short demo of the activities.
