Chalk Storybook Companion
This is a no prep, fun-filled companion to the book Chalk by Bill Thomson. The activities in this packet cross a number of skills and speech goals, including sequencing, inferencing, answering questions, vocabulary, and more. Engage your students further with these critical thinking activities.

What awesome activities are included?
★ Sequencing (2 levels): Students can cut apart and rearrange the sentences or pictures to retell the story in their own words
★ WH- questions: Print and grab two dice. Students can roll both dice to determine which question to answer.
★ Higher level questions: Answer questions presented on the worksheet provided.
★ Verbs: Students will complete a graphic organizer using the verbs found in the story.
★ Predicting: A teacher/SLP cheat sheet is provided with sample predictions. Students can express if they agree or disagree.
★ Cause/effect: students can fill out the graphic organizer using their knowledge of cause and effect.
★ Tier 2 vocabulary: A graphic organizer is provided to complete using Tier 2 words from the story.
★ Describing: Students will draw what they would draw with the chalk. They can describe it to their peers.
★ Articulation: Word searches containing words found in the story are included.
