In this lesson students create a poster using colored pencils and black board to create a piece of art that resembles chalkboard art, but that lasts forever. A great lesson for secondary students to learn about composition, typography and graphic design.
In this lesson student will learn to:
*Go through the process of creating art, thumbnails, rough draft and final art.
*Explore positive and negative space in the composition of their chalkboard quotes.
*Learn to apply blending in colored pencil through the use of analogous colors.
*Practice and apply the principle of unity through the use of decorative elements, color schemes and letterforms or shapes.
*Demonstrate the principle of emphasis in their final artwork.
