This is a 5 day sample of a "Mad Libs" type activity where kids change the noun, verb and adjective of a basic sentence to create a silly sentence.
I started this with some advanced 1st graders who begged for it each morning. This concept works well for 2nd-6th where the youngest students are focusing on understanding nouns, verbs and adjectives and the older students are thinking about word choice and conveying their message with the most interesting or unusual phrases.
Would also make a good literacy center where instructors can create sentences that are aligned with the science or social studies curriculum (e.g. ocean units, space units, etc.).
