Ice Cream in a Bag is the perfect lab to teach students about changes of state, including endothermic and exothermic changes!
In this Changes of State Lab, students will participate in making either ice cream or slushies to demonstrate the exchange of energy to melt ice and freeze liquids.
In addition to making and recording observations, students are asked to make predictions about changes to the process and draw a diagram on the exchange of heat between the ice and the liquids.
