Students will be calculating the area of various two-dimensional figures (rectangle, square, parallelogram, trapezoid, and circle.). Students will then calculate the new area given that the dimensions change. Students will be shading in their answers to reveal the hidden word "HI". There is also an extension worksheet that includes (1) looking at the resulting effects when the dimensions of a rectangle is halved, doubled, and tripled, and (2) looking at the resulting effects when the radius of a circle is halved, doubled, and tripled. This is a great activity for students in groups of 2-4.
