These Chapter Book Summary Worksheets can be used with any fictional chapter book and are very versatile! If you are working on writing chapter summaries or narrations, you'll want to check this out!
Page 1 includes space for the BOOK TITLE, AUTHOR, GENRE, NUMBER OF PAGES, a FAVORITE QUOTE, a RECOMMENDATION, and ADJECTIVES to describe the book...plus there's a BOOK COVER to illustrate and a spot to RATE THE BOOK.
Page 2 builds on Page 1 with space for the SETTING, CHARACTERS, MAIN IDEA or THEME, WHAT I ENJOYED OR LEARNED, and more.
Page 3, 4, 5 are all summary worksheets in three different formats. All three formats include lines for the BOOK TITLE, CHAPTER TITLE, and CHAPTER SUMMARY. Choose just the page that you need:
*Page 3 - room for 3 short chapter summaries, 1/3 of a page each
*Page 4 - room for 2 medium length chapter summaries, 1/2 of a page each
*Page 5 - room for 1 longer chapter summary, questions after reading, and new vocabulary words
These worksheets can be used lots of different ways:
***BOOK REPORT WORKSHEETS*** Page 1 & 2 used together are perfect as book report worksheets (Mount side-by-side on jumbo construction paper - these would look great as bulletin boards/hall displays!).
***SUMMARY/NARRATION PRACTICE***Page 3, 4, or 5 (choose the format you need) can be used as stand-along worksheets...Use after each chapter read to practice writing chapter summaries/narrations.
***MAKE A BOOK REPORT PACKET*** Student can use Page 1 as a book report cover page...add in the Page 3, 4, or 5 summary worksheets completed while reading their book...and then use PAGE 2 as the book report's final page.
The 5 pages come in three different versions (identical content, slightly different borders and graphics), so you can reuse this resource throughout the school year with a bit of variation - there are a total of 15 pages.
