To help my students be organized, I use this cover sheet with each chapter/unit I teach.
The students write down all the assignments (notes, homework, labs, classwork, projects, etc.) that go into the unit and should be in their binder. The parents love this since they can see automatically what their kids have been studying, what we have been doing, and that I'm teaching a way to be organized.
This helps them stay organized.
If you give students points for taking notes or keeping their work organized the last column allows them or you to check off points for the parts of the unit.
