This assignment is useful for any teacher who wants to assess students' understanding of a text's chapter on multiple cognitive levels. This assignment asks students to read (or re-read) and chapter of a text and create a presentation that shows understanding on the levels of "recall", "analysis", and "creativity". Additionally, this project incorporates universal design skills, such as speaking, presentation, and teamwork.
Although this assignment was initially designed for the English classroom, it has been adapted for any subject. (I currently use it in my EMT classroom with students who need to re-read a chapter of the textbook.)
