Note-Taking is a powerful tool you can teach your students. This note-taking format was inspired by the Cornell Note-Taking Method. Great for use in the middle grades.......however, it can be adapted for use in high school or for special needs students.
As students read, they have space to record the “Big Ideas” that stand out while they read.
There are additional spaces to record questions that come up while they read.....also included is a "Text-to-Self" section for the student to record what the chapter means to them......How does the subject matter relate to their own life? Do the events in the reading remind them of an event in their own life?
Additionally, there is space for the student to record "Words-to-Know." Many times, as we read, we encounter words that we need to know the definition of......On this template is space to put these words as a reminder to look up their meanings.
