This is a chapter summary and annotation chart I created as a reading comprehension strategy. The document consists of a two page reading guide that asks students to give a brief summary, identify and describe any new characters, create 2 questions about the chapter, and give two personal connections. The 2nd page is an annotation chart that asks for the page number and line of the annotation and then has a space for the comment, connection, question etc. There is also a small chart at the bottom of page two for uknown words, allusions, etc. and their descriptions. This works extremely well for high school students and offers a wide range of skill practice.
