Product Description
In this lesson, students write requests for advice from a character in a book they are reading, analyzing a dilemma the character is facing and the values that are at odds.

First, students will review the terms value and dilemma.
Then, students will read an example request for advice and advice column from New York Times' The Ethicist (link attached).
After, students will do two think-pair-shares to get them thinking about character dilemmas.
Then, students will write!

This is a great activity to work on character analysis and point of view!

Included is a lesson plan and student worksheet!
