I always do this lesson at the beginning of the school year and it is a huge hit! We read the book "Uncle Andy's" By: James Warhola. (It is a story written by Andy Warhol's nephew and it tells about how they would visit his famous Uncle in NYC.) After reading the book, I have students complete this character web. A great extension activity is to take a photo of each student, print them 4 to a page on watercolor paper, and then allow students to color over each of their portraits with watercolors. I display the character web along with their artwork in the hallway and it looks awesome!
