Students can take ownership of the habits and values that you know will make them better friends, more successful students, and happier people in general. They have those very traits you wish they would show in class right inside of them right now. They just need an opportunity to explore them! Give them that opportunity this New Year!
We all ask our kids to make resolutions and to set goals, but how do we achieve the goals we set? Research shows that writing our intentions and recording the journey produces results. Here is a super easy way to incorporate this into your school day.
This simple, print and use journal provides a way for students to work on eight positive character traits throughout the year. Perfect for the New Year, the new school year, or anytime you’d like to focus on positive character traits in a systematic way.
The Character Building Journal includes three pages for each month so students can use them as planners, for goal setting, and to write about the ways they are developing each of these traits. Focus on one trait at a time or suggest that students choose which trait to write about. There is a page for year-long goal setting and a page with examples of ways students can work on each of the traits. Three cover choices will allow each student to personalize his/her journal. You can include this journal as a section in a journal notebook or as a separately bound workbook.
Wishing you a fresh start and opportunities to watch your students grow in so many ways!
