You can use this in a ton of different ways. Very verstaile-- good for character development, getting students to elaborate on their sentences, "digging for details," character inferring, supporting answers with evidence. Students can use this with just about any book with a character in it. You may even want to use this for biographies to show how actual people changed or transformed throughout time.
This is a graphic organizer that the students use while reading their fiction/non fiction book to demonstrate their understanding of character transformation or "CHARACTER CHANGE OF HEART"- There are two hearts in which the children must write about how the character acted/felt in the beginning of the text and how the character transformed by the end of the story. The students must provide evidence (background or inferences) to help them support how the character changed.
This is a fun activity and is common core aligned. My first attempt at original clipart- please enjoy!
