This is a chart I used with my students for each chapter of Ayn Rand's Anthem so they could keep track of the development of the main character, Equality 7-2521, in the novel. This chart asks students to answer questions about the character and provide supporting quotes for their answers. I would allow them to use this chart on their final writing assignment for the book asking how the character developed throughout the essay. This is a great assignment for students to practice standard RL.3 and RL.1. It helped my students remember what happened throughout the text as well as getting them engaged in citing evidence.
