PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is one of my favorite writing projects from my character development unit. In this prompt, all moms and dad have to go to a mom and dad conference on the same day. When all of the kids go to school, all teachers have gone to a teacher conference on the same day as well (go figure...). As it turns out, there are NO adults ANYWHERE! In this prompt, students write a story about their reactions to this event as well as those who were appointed pint-sized leaders in this very unique situation. In the process of completing the brainstorm, first draft, edits, final draft and illustration(s) for this prompt, students have written about characters who possess true leadership qualities.

This prompt makes an excellent assessment or portfolio piece.

This packet includes:
story starter
brainstorm questions
character development chart (the traits)
character development charts (thoughts, actions, words)
draft #1
edit tracker
draft #2
illustration page

I hope this helps with your character development unit! Please feel free to contact me with questions.
