Product Description
Have students create a Facebook Profile for character analysis in conjunction with a novel study. I used the first few pages from the YA novel "Whirligig" by Paul Fleischman to model. You may want to use this as a small group exercise, assigning a different character from the novel to each group. Once the initial profile is created, students could respond to one another's posts as "friends". This format could be used as a prewriting activity in Writer's Workshop to teach character development. Getting to know all about our characters makes for richer short stories!
