When we begin the year there is so much to do: getting to know our students, settle in to our routines, learn the classroom rules and begin to work together as a classroom family. Part of that relationship is developed with specific activities.
Along with helping students learn the classroom rules and routines, we talk about good citizenship and how we can work together. With these activities we discuss good citizenship through responsibility, respect, honesty, caring, self discipline and more. Learning to show our character as individuals follows the SEL standards that we all address in our rooms. We work together and independently to share our thoughts on how we can show this in school with our friends and in our lives.
Included in this pack you will find sheets for
along with a blank form to use as you see fit.
Also included are headers you can use in a class discussion or as part of an anchor chart. There are two additional worksheets along with a display to talk to students about their "toolbox' of skills. All students have a strength to bring to a discussion and these activities focus on their strengths as they work to strengthen their areas of growth.
I hope you find this packet as helpful in your classroom as I have in mine. Please remember to leave feedback and let us know how it worked for you.
