Do your students need to develop their vocabulary around describing character feelings? Is it hard for your students to come up with the right word to describe how they feel or are you tired of hearing "mad, sad or happy?" This is the tool to move them past all of that!
Using the varied shades of paint sample cards (like the ones from your local hardware store) I have created 20 cards in this pack (80 vocabulary words in all). This pack also includes 2 student reference pages with all 20 cards shrunk onto 2 easy access pages.
After handmaking these for years and struggling with how to make them large enough to hang on the wall or small enough to fit on a student resource - I have finally made a set on my computer to share with you. These are large and easy to print to hang in the classroom, put in a binder for students to reference or roll out during read aloud discussions on character feelings. Great for counselors and therapists too!
This set includes cards to improve student vocabulary around the words: mad, jealous, curious, surprised, nervous, scared, embarassed, sorry, caring, tired, calm, confused, glad, annoyed, worried, annoyed, silly, sad and thankful. Get your students to be more specific when talking about feelings!
I am in the process of making Shades of Feelings II, as well as, packs with character traits. Please come back soon if you like this tool and the others shall be posted soon.
Thanks for reading and considering my product!
